- Evolution moléculaire, phylogénie, phylogéographie, génétique des populations, génétique du paysage, datation moléculaire
- Diversité génétique intra-spécifique (séquences d’ADN, microsatellites, nouvelles technologies de séquençage), principalement sur les vertébrés (mammifères, reptiles, amphibiens, oiseaux) des régions circum-Méditerranée
- Systématique moléculaire des mammifères (plus particulièrement les rongeurs) ; confrontation avec les données morphologiques et paléontologiques
- Analyse du signal phylogénétique et de l’homoplasie dans les sequences d’ADN (ribosomes vs protéines, gènes mitochondriaux vs nucléaires, introns vs exons)
