Armelle Viard conducts research in the field of cognitive neurosciences, using neuroimaging techniques, in particular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Her main research interest focuses on autobiographical memory and future thinking, through behavioral and neuroimaging experiments, in different populations: healthy participants (adolescents, young and older adults) and patients (neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders). Other lines of research include investigating cognitive abilities and their neural correlates in patients suffering from breast cancer, functional alterations in hippocampal amnesias and social cognition in fronto-temporal dementias.
